Driver sought in hit-and-run death in Duplin

MOUNT OLIVE -- The State Highway Patrol is looking for a hit-and-run driver who killed a Mount Olive area man this weekend in northern Duplin County.
Adrian E. Jones, 83, of Tram Road in Duplin County near Mount Olive, died from injuries sustained when struck by a vehicle early Saturday. The accident happened at 4:40 a.m. Saturday on Tram Road, Highway Patrol investigators said.
Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the Kenansville Highway Patrol office at 910-296-1311. All information received is confidential.
Jones' funeral is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at Tyndall Funeral Home, Mount Olive.
