Three teens arrested on 6 felony counts

Three teenagers were arrested by sheriff's officers and charged with six felony offenses in connection with residential break-ins on Perkins Mill Road and Moss Hill Road in Rosewood.
Brian James Sellers, 16, of Charlie Braswell Road and Jacob Everett Carr, 16, of Oak Knolls Road were charged with two felony counts each of breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. Each was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $50,000 secured bond.
The third suspect, a 15-year-old, was charged with the same offenses in a juvenile petition and placed in the Pitt County Juvenile Detention Center in Greenville. He was not identified because of his age.
Sellars and Carr were accused of damaging a door and stealing a rifle from the Edward Keith Porter home on Perkins Mill Road and stealing three handguns and $350 from the Sharon A. Lee home on Moss Hill Drive.
Porter estimated the rifle's value at $1,100 and damage at $200. Ms. Lee put a $2,850 value on her firearms that were all recovered.
Patrol Cpl. Craig Edwins was notified about the break-ins and arrived at the Moss Hill Road address. He talked to witnesses and called for assistance. Detective Sgts. Ray Brogden, Robert Chunn and Mike Kabler responded and the teens were found and arrested.
Also this weekend, an alert citizen who lives on Hinnant Road saw someone break into a sport utility vehicle Sunday and steal a pack of cigarette and chased the man on foot to a cul-de-sac.
Kenneth Ray Bedford chased the man south on Hinnant Road to Hilton Place.
Wayne County Sheriff Carey Winders and other officers responded, saw the suspect and arrested him. Bedford identified the man as the suspect.
After further investigation, Antonio DeMorris McDuffie, 39, of Hinnant Road, Pikeville, was charged with seven felony counts of breaking and entering of a vehicle and three felony counts of larceny. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $60,000 secured bond.
McDuffie was accused of stealing a pack of cigarettes from Bedford's wife's sport utility vehicle.
McDuffie also was charged with breaking into four vehicles on Grand Street. A pair of binoculars was stolen from one. A satellite radio receiver was taken from another but was recovered, reports said.
Patrol Sgt. Jeff Williams, Deputy Aaron Cantwell, Detective Sgt. Ray Brogden and the Aggressive Criminal Enforcement Team assisted in the arrest.
