The Health Department has run out of the flu vaccine but might get another shipment, Health Director James Roosen said this morning.

Flu clinics scheduled at the Health Department have been discontinued until more of the vaccine is received.

During the Saturday vaccination clinic on Oct. 29, an estimated 1,620 vaccines were administered, Roosen said. At the time, the Health Department had announced 2,050 doses were available.

In flu clinics held since, the Health Department has averaged 150-200 doses a day.

Roosen said by late Tuesday afternoon, the number of vaccines available had dwindled down to 50, with those expected to be gone today.

A discussion about the flu vaccine was expected to take place at today's Board of Health meeting.
