The tenants keep coming for Goldsboro's Berkeley Commons shopping center. Developer Connell Radcliff of 1st Carolina Properties said Old Navy is scheduled to open on Tuesday, Nov. 8. Rack Room Shoes and rue 21, a clothing store geared toward teens, both opened last week. Opening later this year is Skyvision, a Nextel outlet.

Moe's Southwest Grill, Cold Stone Creamery, Radio Shack and Lane Bryant are scheduled to open next year at Berkeley Commons, Radcliff announced. "Most of these will be open in February or March of next year," he said.

Radcliff said he is working with several other retail outlets to fill the few remaining spaces in the shopping center. Potential tenants include a "national" restaurant and a pre-teen apparel store, "a name people will recognize," he said.

Still unoccupied is an outparcel space designated for a restaurant.

"We've had various restaurant users look at it, and we're working with two of them, but nothing I can announce," Radcliff said of the space.

Radcliff said the stores already open in Berkeley Commons have been pleased with Goldsboro.

"So far, the sales reporting from all of the tenants that are open has been extremely encouraging," he said.
