14th arrest made in raid; six still sought

A 14th person was arrested Tuesday by Wayne County authorities as a result of a year-long undercover drug campaign against street and mid-level dealers.
Thirteen people had been arrested in a predawn sweep by the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad, sheriff's deputies and Goldsboro police.
Ella Verina Young, 40, of Johnson Lane, was charged with two counts each of possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine and sale and delivery of cocaine and one count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and sale and delivery of marijuana. She was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $150,000 secured bond.
Six more people are being sought. During the campaign, 52 charges were filed against 20 people.
In an unrelated case, another person was arrested before dawn today by police on Courtyard Circle and charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. Major Earl Edwards, 38, of Emmaus Church Road, Dudley, was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $1,000 secured bond.
