Diane Kester wins honor

WINSTON-SALEM -- Dr. Diane Kester of Goldsboro was presented the North Carolina Librarian's Association's Lifetime Achievement Award at the organization's 56th Biennial Conference in September in Winston-Salem.
Kester worked as a librarian in the Wayne County schools before earning her doctorate in library science and joining East Carolina University. She served as chairman of the university's Library Department from 1996 until her retirement in 2004.
