Breaking and entering
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office arrested Michael Jarman Jr., 21, of Stantonsburg on Tuesday, in connection with several residential break-ins that occurred on Watery Branch Church Road in northern Wayne County.
Jarman was charged with breaking and entering and larceny and held under $2,500 secured bond.
Drug arrest
After a traffic stop on U.S. 70 East by the ACE team of the Sheriff's Office, Erick James Speight, 24, LaGrange, was charged with felony possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, with secured bond set at $3,000.
False pretense
Phyllis Inez Hill, 48, Brightleaf Road, was arrested by Goldsboro police on Tuesday and charged with obtaining property by false pretense. She allegedly returned stolen property to Belks in exchange for a gift card. Ms. Hill was placed in Wayne County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.
According to another police report, she was also charged with driving while license revoked and having expired insurance.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Denise Lanier of East Walnut Street reported the theft of a vehicle from her residence while she was away from Oct. 5-11. The vehicle was located behind an apartment building about a block away from her home. The license plate was missing and damage was estimated at $500.
*At Kentucky Fried Chicken on East Ash Street, an unknown subject reportedly entered a secured storage container by prying the lockbar off a door. Nothing was missing but there was $75 worth of damage. The incident was reported at 5:45 p.m. Tuesday.
*Roland Robinson, 61, of Berry Street, reported a checkbook and checks missing from a nightstand in his bedroom.
*A brick was thrown through a plate glass window at a property on East Beech Street Tuesday afternoon. Resident Eleva Monroe, 70, told police there was no evidence of entry or items missing. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
*At the Trade Mart on East Ash Street, an unidentified black man reportedly drove away after pumping $20 worth of gas without paying.
*Sometime between Sept. 3 and Oct. 7, an unknown subject forged three checks at Wal-Mart, in the amounts of $70.79, $163.55 and $85.21. Mark Kromeka, 30, of Edgerton Street reported the theft.
The Sheriff's Office is investigating these reports:
*An estimated $1,000 worth of damage was done to the front door at Johnny's Mart, N.C. 111, around 4:30 this morning. Haneth Nasser reported two unidentified men exited a dark vehicle and attempted to gain entry to the business but were unsuccessful. The incident was recorded on a security camera at the business.
*Christine Mervin of Indian Springs Road reported a 9 mm black pistol worth $500 missing from her residence. She told deputies she suspected a man she knew had taken it.
*A Trey Drive woman reported an estimated $20,000 worth of items, including family photos, men's jewelry and a Jewish Bible, missing from her residence Tuesday. Michelle Blair Grzybck, 41, said her estranged husband may have come to the residence and removed the items.
