The Wachovia Foundation has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Girl Scout Council of Coastal Carolina.
The grant is intended to support Girl Scouts who live in community housing.
With the extra help, some girls would not be able to participate in Scouting activities, said Fund Development Specialisty Meghan Sedlak.
Council Executive Director Debbie McDowell-Tate said Wachovia's aim to build strong, vibrant communities is closely aligned with the Girl Scout mission to inspire girls to develop character, conduct, patriotism and resourcefulness.
