Woman indicted in man's murder

A 38-year-old Goldsboro woman has been indicted by the Wayne County Grand Jury for the first-degree murder of her boyfriend.
Teresa Edwina Bizzell, who lived in Tanglewood Mobile Home Park off Central Heights Road, is accused of fatally stabbing Larnell Thompson, 51, on Feb. 24.
Thompson was not identified as the victim until almost a week later when police received his out-of-state fingerprints.
Goldsboro police had been asked to check the mobile home because no one had seen Thompson for a few days. Officers found the doors locked. Cpl. Mike Goudy was authorized to make a forced entry into the home through a window. The victim was found on the floor next to a bed.
After an investigation, Ms. Bizzell was developed as a suspect, and she was arrested in South Carolina and charged with the crime. She has been held without bond in the Wayne County Jail.
Police Investigator Chad Calloway and Assistant Special Agent-in-Charge John Rea of the State Bureau of Investigation were the lead investigators in the case.
Another defendant, Tracey Terrell Grady, 36, of Stanley Chapel Church Road, Mount Olive, was indicted on seven felony sex offenses in two incidents.
Grady was charged May 19 by Goldsboro police with two counts each of a first-degree sex offense and a crime against nature and one count of first-degree kidnapping. He was accused of abducting a woman in Goldsboro and taking her outside of the city.
After Grady was arrested, he also was charged May 20 by the Sheriff's Office with the first-degree forcible rape and first-degree kidnapping of a 19-year-old woman. Both assaults occurred near Dobbs County Courthouse Road, officers said. Grady is being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $700,000 secured bond.
The grand jurors handed up 29 other true bills of indictment during their October meeting. They could not act on three bills, because witnesses were not present.
Eleven people were indicted on such property crimes as breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods. Six were indicted on drug offenses.
Three indictments were returned on fraud charges. Two indictments were handed up on traffic offenses, weapons violations and assault charges, and another was returned for common-law robbery.
Two defendants were indicted as habitual felons. If either is convicted of a fourth, non-overlapping offense, then his sentence would be significantly lengthened.
