Sex charge
A 25-year-old man has been arrested by Wayne County sheriff's officers and charged with a felony second-degree sex offense.
William Charles Kohls of Robin Lake Drive, Dudley, had been charged with assault on a female and communicating threats. When the victim gave a statement about other incidents, he was charged with the felony, Detective Sgt. Tammy Odom said. Kohls was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of an $80,000 secured bond.
An investigation of the case is continuing and other charges are possible, Sgt. Odom said. Detective Sgt. Robert Chunn assisted in the arrest.
Six hurt in wrecks
Six people were injured and damages were estimated at $27,700 in five recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*A passenger was injured in a two-car collision at 1:20 p.m. Tuesday at North William Street and Patetown Road, Goldsboro police said. Joyce Forrester, 74, of Woodview Drive was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. She was riding with Howard Porter Forrester, 74, of Woodview Drive. The other driver, Larry Gene Barefoot, 34, of Crossbow Drive, Pikeville, was charged with a safe-movement violation. The report said Barefoot was making a left turn and the car that he was driving collided with the Forresters' southbound auto. Damages were set at $3,500.
*A motorcyclist was injured in a wreck at 6:56 p.m. Tuesday on North Berkeley Boulevard at Lisa Lane, police said. Matthew John Walker, 21, of South Oleander Avenue was released after emergency-room treatment. The report said Walker was shifting gears, lost his balance and fell off the bike. The motorcycle overturned, sustaining about $3,000 in damages.
*A driver was injured and his pickup truck was heavily damaged in a wreck at 2:21 a.m. Monday on Rosewood Road near Holland Hill Drive, the Highway Patrol said. Matthew Allen Guinn, 22, of Old Smithfield Road, Princeton, was released after emergency-room treatment. He was charged with reckless driving and suspicion of driving while impaired. The report said the pickup had run off the right side, careened out of control off the left side and struck a house at 1229 Rosewood Road. Damage was put at $9,000 to the pickup and $10,000 to Havery Harris' home.
*Two passengers were injured in a one-car wreck at 12:27 a.m. Sunday at Parkstown and Beston roads, the Highway Patrol said. Two children were released after emergency-room treatment. They were riding with Gloria Jean Davis, 47, of Kinston. No charges were filed. Damage was put at $1,000.
*A driver was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 2:35 p.m. Friday on U.S. 117 Alternate near Outlaw Road, the Highway Patrol said. Delores M. Williams, 48, of Outlaw Road, Dudley, was released after emergency-room treatment. The other motorist, Leon Reinart Doole, 70, of Camp Trailee Road, Dudley, was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end collision. Damages were estimated at $1,200.
Drug charges
Two men were arrested Tuesday night by Goldsboro police and charged with felony drug offenses.
*Ronald Antwan Fields, 20, of Graham was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and two misdemeanors, second-degree trespass and resisting arrest, on Olivia Lane. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $7,000 secured bond.
*Yuante DeBois Smith, 27, of Creech Street was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and misdemeanor possession of marijuana on George Street. He was jailed in lieu of a $1,000 secured bond.
Old cars stolen
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*A silver 1980 BMW, a red 1977 MG convertible and a dark blue 1975 MG convertible were stolen between May 1 and Tuesday from the 200 block of Conover Road, sheriff's deputies said. The antique cars, valued at $4,100, were owned by Roy Glen Nation Jr. of Goldsboro.
*A Browning semi-automatic shotgun, a gun case and a pair of waders were stolen between Sept. 21 and Tuesday from an unlocked garage in the 100 block of Jill Street, deputies said. The resident, J. Ven Faulk Jr., put a $1,465 value on the property.
Chicken thief
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Five cases of hot wings and two cases of boneless wings were stolen between Monday and Tuesday after a lock was removed from a freezer at Kentucky Fried Chicken at 700 E. Ash St., police said. The missing chicken was valued at $452.
*Compact discs and about $50 were stolen Tuesday after a car window was smashed in the 200 block of North Kornegay Street, police said. The owner, Lucia Valadez of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, estimated the CD's value at $200 and damage at $500.
