Man dies after truck hits car

An unknown man was killed in a crash of a car and a tractor-trailer Monday night at the intersection of N.C. 111 South and N.C. 55 in southeastern Wayne County.
Highway Patrol investigators did not have any information about the driver of either the car or the tractor-trailer this morning. Nor would they release any information on the cause of the accident.
The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured, witnesses said, although the truck ran off the road and flipped over. The tractor-trailer was headed west on N.C. 55 at the time of the accident, about 10 p.m.
Seven Springs and Pricetown volunteer fire department units were dispatched to the scene.
