Teen shot
accidentally
A teenager was accidentally shot Saturday while shooting skeet with friends in the 1300 block of New Hope Road, according to a report filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Justin David Rowe, 16, of North Beston Road, LaGrange, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and then transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital in Greenville, where his condition was not immediately known.
Rowe said the shooting was an accident but did not remember exactly what happened, the report said.
The first officer to arrive, Sgt. Steve Mozingo, said he found Rowe with a gunshot wound to his left leg and a shotgun about 10 feet away.
None of the three witnesses said they saw what happened, but they said they heard a gun discharge and Rowe yell for help, the report said.
Man robbed
A Goldsboro man was assaulted and robbed Saturday by a knife-wielding suspect at Corney and Leslie streets, according to a Goldsboro police report.
Corey Barnett, 33, told officers that a man stabbed him in the back at about 7:20 a.m., grabbed his wallet, worth about $5, and fled. During the robbery, Barnett also suffered a dislocated elbow.
Barnett was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released, a spokeswoman said.
The suspect was described as black, 6-feet and 205 pounds with short black hair and brown eyes. He wore a black shirt and blue jeans.
11 hurt in wrecks
Eleven people were injured and damages were estimated at $78,600 in 12 recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*Two people were injured and damages were estimated at $9,000 in a three-vehicle crash at 12:40 p.m. Sunday on the U.S. 70 bypass, near Spence Avenue, Goldsboro police said. Dianna H. Stallings, 81, of North Pine Street, Princeton, and a driver, Jonathan Scott Daniels, 17, of Rachel Jackson Road, Mount Olive, were treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital. Another driver, Robert Price Biggers, 67, of Wooten Point Road, was charged with a yield violation.
*Two people were injured in a two-car crash at 4:40 p.m. Sunday at West Ash Street and an exit ramp to South Dr. M.L. King Jr. Expressway, the U.S. 117 bypass, police said. One driver, Sonja Corina Summerville, 35, of Angela Drive, and her passenger, Sabrina Thomas, 34, of Stone Glen Road, Pikeville, were released after emergency-room treatment. No charges have been filed. Damages were put at $3,200.
*A motorcycle ran off the right side of Airport Road near Combs Road at 10:25 a.m. Sunday, and the rider was ejected, the Highway Patrol said. Dorry Jeanie Bedard, 43, of Lancaster Road, Pikeville, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, stabilized and transferred to Pitt County Memorial Hospital, where her condition was not immediately available. She was charged with failure to wear a safety helmet. Damage was set at $200.
*Damages were estimated at $11,000 in a one-car wreck at 1:28 p.m. Sunday on Fussell Street, police said. Treva Leesha Barnes, 26, of West Holly Street, was charged with failure to reduce speed.
*Two people were injured in a three-car collision at 1:23 p.m. Saturday at North George and West Ash streets, police said. Connie McQueen, 51, and her passenger, Monica Crystal McQueen, 17, both of Ben Brewington Court, were released after emergency-room treatment. Another motorist, Tracy Lynne Parker of U.S. 117 North, Pikeville, was charged with failure to reduce speed and an opened container violation. Damages were set at $1,700.
*Damages were estimated at $5,000 in a two-vehicle crash at 5:41 p.m. Saturday at East Ash and North Slocumb streets, police said. Lashonda Robinson, 22, of Park Avenue, was charged with a safe-movement violation.
*Damages were estimated at $7,500 in a two-car wreck at 1:06 p.m. Saturday on Wayne Memorial Drive near Royall Avenue, police said. Alzora M. Young, 69, of Rose Court, Dudley, was charged with a safe-movement violation.
*A car was destroyed in a wreck at 2:55 a.m. Saturday on N.C. 581, north of U.S. 70, the Highway Patrol said. The southbound car ran off the right side, the driver overcorrected, and the car ran off the left side, struck a ditch and overturned into a tree. The driver fled. The car, valued at $5,000, was registered to Robert Earl Owens of Riverbend Road.
*A driver was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 12:25 p.m. Wednesday on Mount Carmel Church Road near Daw Pate Road, the Highway Patrol said. Martine Brigitta Rorik, 33, of Pikeville-Princeton Road, Pikeville, was released after emergency-room treatment. No charges were filed. Damage was fixed at $2,000.
*Three people were injured and both vehicles were demolished in an accident at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday on Pineview Cemetery Road near Indian Springs Road, the Highway Patrol said. Wilma R. Bek, 68, and her passenger, Edwin C. Bek, 76, both of Sheboygan, Wis., and the other driver, William David Johnson, 37, of Pineview Cemetery Road, Seven Springs, were treated and later released from Wayne Memorial Hospital. Johnson was charged with failure to reduce speed. The vehicles were valued at $22,000.
*Damage was estimated at $7,000 in a one-car wreck at 7:45 a.m. Wednesday on U.S. 117 near O'Berry Road, the Highway Patrol said. The driver, Marion Oxendine, 38, of Hooks Court, Pikeville, was charged with exceeding a safe speed.
*A car was demolished in a wreck at 1:53 p.m. Tuesday on Emmaus Church Road near Sleepy Creek Road, the Highway Patrol said. The driver fled. The car, valued at $5,000, was registered to Alphonso Polite of Outlaw Road, Dudley.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A DVD player was stolen between Saturday and Sunday after a window was damaged at a home in the 200 block of South Leslie Street, police said. The resident, Latrish D. Usher, put a $100 value on the player. Damage was set at $20.
*Twenty compact discs in a case and $20 were stolen between Friday and Saturday after a car window was smashed in the 1900 block of North William Street, police said. The report said the CDs were worth $20, and damage was set at $75 to the car.
*Five trailer tires and five rims were stolen between Friday and Sunday from Clark Auction Co. at 512 N. John St., police said. The property was valued at $1,850.
Car thefts
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*A burgundy, four-door 2003 Ford Taurus was stolen between Saturday and Sunday from the 300 block of Camden Park Drive, deputies said. The resident and owner, Forest Sylvester Newby, said the car was worth $12,000.
*A red, four-door 1989 Pontiac Bonneville was stolen between Friday and Saturday from the 100 block of Bridgers Road, deputies said. The car, registered to Daniel Martinez Tejeda of Dudley, was valued at $1,500.
Drug charges
Two Goldsboro men were arrested Sunday by Goldsboro police and charged with a felony drug offense on Bryant Street.
*Louis Nathaniel Avery, 20, of North Kornegay Street was charged with possession of cocaine and five misdemeanors -- possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon, driving while his license was revoked, no liability insurance and communicating threats. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $15,300 secured bond.
*Demetrius Antwan Green, 19, of Bryant Street was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. He was jailed in lieu of a $4,500 secured bond.
Missing
Three teenagers have been reported missing to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
*Adriana Santivanes, 14, of 108 Hanson Drive, Princeton, was described as Hispanic, 5-feet-8 and 100 pounds with a slim build and long, curly brown hair. She was seen last at 10 p.m. Friday. No clothing description was available.
*Guna Santivanes, 15, of 702 Ebenezer Church Road, Princeton, was described as Hispanic, 5-feet-6 and 150 pounds with a heavy build, long curly brown hair and brown eyes. She was seen last at 7 p.m. Friday. No clothing description was available. Guna Santivanes and Adriana Santivanes may be in LaGrange or going to Florida.
*Charlene Nicole Goodwin, 16, of Warrick Circle was described as white, 5-feet-8 and 230 pounds with a large build, straight shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes. When she was seen last at 4:29 p.m. Sunday, she was wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans and black boots.
Clarification
A school bus and a car that were involved in an incident Tuesday on Rosewood Road did not make contact, a Highway Patrol report said. A report in Friday's public records said the vehicles had collided. But the school bus driver, Katherine P. Ham, 48, of Radford Drive, was charged with a yield violation. She had pulled from Charlie Braswell Road and forced the driver of a car on Rosewood Road to take evasive action to avoid contact. The car, driven by Miranda C. Beasley of Goldsboro, sustained about $500 in damages after it struck landscape timber, a bush and a tree, the report said.
