Drivers injured
Three drivers were injured and damages were estimated at $7,500 in a three-vehicle collision at 12:08 p.m. Wednesday at Wayne Memorial Drive and Country Day Road, Goldsboro police said.
Allison Elaine Bronner, 28, of Redwood Trail, Crystal Renee Davis, 32, of East Ash Street and Daniel Shane Wall, 19, of Forest Knolls Road were treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. Ms. Bronner was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end collision.
Man assaulted
A 44-year-old man was struck on the head with a baseball bat before dawn today and seriously injured, according to a Wayne County Sheriff's Office report.
Napoleon Walker of Dell Court told deputies that the suspect struck him in his home at about 3:30 a.m. Walker was rushed by ambulance to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was listed today in stable condition.
Deputies found blood splatters on a wall and pools of blood in the home. The bat was seized as evidence.
The assailant was described as black and about 25 years old. No charges have been filed.
Guns stolen
Two handguns, a hunting bow, an air compressor, binoculars, a tobacco book and tools were stolen between Tuesday and Wednesday from a home in the 2100 block of N.C. 222 West, the Wayne County Sheriff's Office reported.
The thief had damaged framing in order to enter the home, the report said. The resident, A.W. Aycock Jr., estimated the value of the stolen property at $823 and damage at $200.
Vehicles stolen
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A blue and silver 2000 Isuzu motorcycle was stolen Wednesday from the 200 block of South Herman Street, police said. The owner, Eato Matthais of Bay Shore, N.Y., put a $6,000 value on his bike.
*A gray 1992 Isuzu Rodeo sport utility vehicle was stolen between Tuesday and Wednesday from the 400 block of Seymour Drive, police said. The owner, Tammie Lynn Ward of Willow Springs, said the SUV was worth $3,000.
Missing
A 28-year-old woman was reported missing Tuesday by relatives to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office. Ciata Syeh of 111 Spring Branch Road was described as black, 5-feet-6 and 175 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
When she was seen last at 3:30 p.m. Friday, she was wearing a T-shirt, blue jeans and tennis shoes. Anyone with information on her location was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 731-1481.
