County commissioners only have one public hearing scheduled for their Tuesday morning meeting.
Wayne County and the towns of Eureka, Fremont, Pikeville, Mount Olive and Walnut Creek have developed a multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan.
The plan will serve as a blueprint for the county and the town to follow during natural hazards and disasters. It's a requirement for counties wishing to receive certain types of state and federal disaster relief funding.
The public will have an opportunity to give an opinion on the plan during the public hearing Tuesday, scheduled for 9:15.
In other matters the board will:
*Consider a request from Whitely Church to have a fireworks display in celebration of Labor Day.
*Consider a request to extend the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction to take in a subdivision being developed.
