Repo man takes
the wrong SUV
A man came to a woman's home Thursday on Mallard Drive and said he was repossessing her sport utility vehicle, according to a report filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Tonia Susan Geigher, 41, told deputies the man said he was from Interstate Search and Recovery. Ms. Geigher said she spoke earlier with Nissan Credit and was advised that the vehicle was not scheduled for repossession, the report said.
At that point, Ms. Geigher jumped in the man's wrecker and removed the key. The unidentified man, the report said, grabbed the woman, tried to throw her to the ground, pulled out a handgun from under the driver's seat and said, "Don't make me do this."
The man then drove away, pulling the 2001 blue Ford Explorer.
Sheriff's Deputy Chuck Schaeffer called Nissan Credit and said he was told that the SUV should not have been taken and that a recovery service was dispatched to return it.
Schaeffer said he tried to contact Interstate Search and Recovery but was not successful.
3rd man arrested
in three holdups
A third man was arrested Thursday by Goldsboro police in connection with the armed robberies of three food delivery men.
Julian Devon Sauls, 19, was arrested by Officers David Cloutier and Thomas Collins at his home on Hugh Street charged with three felony counts of armed robbery. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $100,000 secured bond.
Sauls was accused of taking part in the armed holdups with Derek Andre Kornegay, 18, of South Herman Street and Gilbert McNeil III, 19, of Olivia Lane. Kornegay and McNeil were arrested Tuesday, charged with three armed robberies and jailed in lieu of $100,000 secured bonds.
Police said the three were charged with robbing pizza delivery men July 14 and Saturday in the 100 block of Bright Street and a Chinese restaurant delivery man Sunday in the 1000 block of Evergreen Avenue.
Investigations
Wayne County law-enforcement officers are investigating these reports:
*A man's gold Seiko watch and a window screen were stolen Thursday after a door and three screens were damaged at a home in the 900 block of Prince Avenue, Goldsboro police said. The resident, Michael Hines, estimated the value of the stolen property at $210 and damages at $80.
*A purse with personal papers was stolen Thursday after a car window was smashed in the 2000 block of Rose Street, police said. The owner Nikia Fonner, of Goldsboro, put a $210 value on her property. Damage was set at $150.
*Three air conditioners were stolen between Thursday and Friday from a rental mobile home in the 200 block of Baker Street in Eureka, sheriff's deputies said. The owner, William Anderson Martin of Eureka, put a $900 value on the units.
*A gray 1993 Dodge Caravan was stolen Monday from the 1000 block of Poplar Street, police said. The van, owned by Michael P. McKay of Morehead City, was valued at $2,000. The theft was not reported until Thursday.
Collision
Damages were estimated at $6,600 in a three-vehicle collision at 4:20 p.m. Thursday on North Berkeley Boulevard near Ridgecrest Drive, Goldsboro police said.
One driver, Wendy F. Gibson, 34, of Woodcroft Drive, was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end collision. The other drivers were identified as Evelyn J. Heidenreich, 83, of North Harding Drive and Charlene Annette Giles, 29, of Selfridge Road.
