Drug charges
Three people were arrested Tuesday by the Goldsboro-Wayne County Drug Squad and charged with drug violations in a home in the 600 block of North John Street.
*The resident, Matthew Coley, 53, was charged with three felonies -- possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling cocaine and possession of a weapon of mass destruction -- and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and three prescription medicines. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 secured bond.
*Julia Caressa Nixon, 24, of Greenville was charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and two prescription medicines. She was jailed in lieu of a $7,000 secured bond.
*Gwendelyn Newsome, 36, of Eastern Place was charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at $700.
Accidental shooting
A 33-year-old man accidentally shot himself Tuesday while he was cleaning his rifle, according to a report filed with the Wayne County Sheriff's Office.
Richard Leon Brown of Britt Road, Mount Olive, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released, a spokeswoman said.
Brown told deputies that he was shooting at a dove when his rifle jammed. He said a round went off and shot him in the left leg as he was cleaning it.
Woman assaulted
A 41-year-old woman was assaulted Tuesday night with a wooden pole during an argument with a man, according to a Goldsboro police report.
Robin Renee Johnson of Courtyard Circle was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released, a spokeswoman said.
Her husband, Evander Kelly Johnson, 54, of Courtyard Circle, was charged with felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail without bond.
Man robbed
A Goldsboro man was robbed Tuesday night of a wallet that had $15 and personal papers, Goldsboro police reported.
John Wells, 75, told officers that he had picked up a man at about 9:20 p.m. at North George and West Grantham streets. The man said he needed help in getting his truck to Patetown and then directed Wells to Alpha Court, the report said.
The suspect tried to take Wells' car key but failed, and then he grabbed Wells' wallet, damaging Wells' pants. The man then fled toward North William Street. The suspect was described as being black or Hispanic, about 25, 5-feet-6 and 120 pounds.
Accidents
Two people were injured and damages were estimated at $16,150 in three recent traffic collisions in Wayne County, officers reported.
*A driver from LaGrange was injured and damages were estimated at $6,000 in a two-vehicle collision at 6 a.m. Tuesday at U.S. 70 East and N.C. 111 South, Goldsboro police said. Royneil Jerome McCullen, 31, of West Washington Street was treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. The other driver, Sidney Curtis Davis, 59, of Fort Washington, Md., was turning into a gas station. Both drivers said they had the green light. No charges were filed.
*A driver was ejected from his vehicle in a wreck at 5:11 p.m. Sunday on Arrington Bridge Road near Indian Springs Road, the Highway Patrol said. Hilario Gonzales Lopez, 27, of W.P. Brogden Court, Dudley, was released after emergency-room treatment. He was charged with suspicion of driving while impaired and reckless driving. His southbound sport utility vehicle ran off the right side, struck a mail box, careened across the road and off the left side and overturned. Damages were set at $3,550.
*Damages were estimated at $6,400 in a two-vehicle crash at 5:10 a.m. Friday at Davis Mill Road and Red Hill roads, the Highway Patrol said. One driver, George Anthony Marlowe, 35, of North Vance Street, Fremont, was charged with a stop-sign violation. The southbound auto that Marlowe was driving collided with a parked car that was registered to Teresa P. Durham of Red Hill Road, Fremont.
Thefts reported
Wayne County law-enforcement officers are investigating these reports:
*An air compressor, a battery charger and a gas jug were stolen between Monday and Tuesday after a door and a padlock were damaged in the 900 block of N.C. 222 West, sheriff's deputies said. The owner and resident, Brandon Gerald Grimes, estimated the value of the stolen property at $185 and damage at $155.
*About $60 was stolen between Monday and Tuesday from a drink machine at Country Fruit Stand No. 1 on U.S. 70 West, deputies said. The machine sustained about $300 in damages.
*A silver, two-door 2001 Toyota Solara was stolen between Saturday and Tuesday from the Deacon Jones Kia dealership at 2077 U.S. 70 West, deputies said. The car was valued at $12,000.
*Tools were stolen between Monday and Tuesday from a shed in the 700 block of East Mulberry Street, Goldsboro police said. The thief had damaged a window, a door and a fence in order to get inside, the report said. A push lawn mower also was stolen but was recovered. The value of the stolen property was not known. The resident, George Eugene King, estimated damages at $380.
Break-in
A 29-year-old man was arrested Tuesday by the Wayne County sheriff's deputies and charged with breaking and entering and larceny from a mobile home.
Mikkel Defoster Leach of Beaver Drive, Dudley, was accused of breaking into a neighbor's home and stealing jewelry, DVDs, food and an athletic jersey, Sheriff's Cpl. Joe Smith said. About $300 worth of jewelry and $200 worth of DVDs were recovered.
Smith and his search dog, Maggie, and Deputy Eric Robinson were responding to a call about a trespasser at another home but were flagged down by a witness in the break-in. Smith said the witness said the suspect was in the other home.
Leach was arrested in the home and then placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 secured bond.
Missing
Three boys were reported missing Tuesday to Wayne County authorities.
*Kenneth Edward Mace, 15, of 1659 Tommy's Road was described as black, 5-feet-1 and 155 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He has not been seen in about a month.
*Michael Lamar Bellamy, 15, of 1306 N. James St. was described as black, 5-feet-3 and 80 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. When he was seen last at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, he was wearing a tan and blue shirt, blue-jean shorts and black shoes.
*Michael Antonio Thompson, 11, of 1306 N. James St. was described as black, 4-feet-6 and 70 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. When he was seen last at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, he was wearing a yellow and blue shirt, blue-jean shorts and white shoes.
