A Goldsboro teen-ager was murdered in a drive-by shooting Tuesday night in Tanglewood Trailer Park, Goldsboro police reported today. No arrests have been made.

The victim was identified as Otis Dwayne Davis, 16, of Lot 215, 3201 Central Heights Road.

Police responded to a shots-fired call at 9:49 p.m. and found an unresponsive Davis with his face down on the ground in front of his mobile home.

Witnesses told police that the shots had come from a burgundy Honda with two white men inside. The car then sped away in an unknown direction.

Davis was rushed by ambulance to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His body was to be taken today to the state Medical Examiner's Office in Chapel Hill for an autopsy.

Police launched an immediate investigation, canvassing the neighborhood and interviewing residents in order to develop a suspect. Most members of the division were working on the case this morning.

No other information was available.

Anyone with information on the shooting was asked to call Police Investigator Mike Moore or Special Agent Barbara Lewis of the State Bureau of Investigation at 580-4212 or Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers may remain anonymous and might be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000, if their information leads to an arrest.
