Jason Sutton represented Spring Creek High School at the 2005 Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar (HOBY) on June 9-12 at North Carolina State University.
Sutton joined other students from across the state, each nominated as ambassadors by their high schools for the three-day leadership training seminar.
A sophomore, he is the son of Randy and Susan Sutton of Sleepy Creek.
Kyle Sasser has been selected to represent Wayne Christian School and the State of North Carolina at the Junior National Young Leaders Conference this fall in Washington, D.C.
He is the son of Tim and Jane Sasser of LaGrange.
Christine Fairchild, a senior chemistry major at Cedarville University in Ohio, has been selected to appear in the 2005 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. Selection is based on academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities, and potential for continued success. She is the daughter of Stephen and Sarah Fairchild of Goldsboro.
Jeanetta K. Craigwell-Graham of Goldsboro and Abbie Caroline Ivey, Miranda Jean Mills and William Christopher Turner of Mount Olive are on the 2005 spring semester dean's list at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem.
Louise Carter Northington served as a page in the North Carolina Senate during the week of June 6-10. She is an upcoming sophomore at Eastern Wayne High School. She is the daughter of Adrienne and Jim Northington and the granddaughter of L.C. Warren Jr. Her sponsor was Senator John H. Kerr III.
Adrian Kristin Brantham recently graduated from High Point University magna cum laude with a bachelor of science degree in interior design and a minor in studio art. She also was on the spring semester dean's list. She is the daughter of Landy and Debbie Brantham of Rosewood.
Holly Williams Rucker graduated from Wake Technical College in Raleigh on May 6 with an associate arts degree in dental hygiene. While a student at Wake Tech, Ms. Rucker served as officer with the Dental Hygiene Association and as a volunteer at Wake Medical Center and several day care centers and schools. She was a recipient of an American Dental Association Scholarship and was selected by her classmates to receive the B.C. Raynor Award and by the faculty for the NC Academy of Advanced Studies Award, which is a $100 cash award. She is a 1993 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School and a 1997 graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her parents are Dale W. and Shirley M. Williams of Goldsboro.
Wilson Technical Community College spring graduates included Belinda Hargrove Warrick of Mount Olive, Stephanie Leigh Casey of Pikeville, Davetta Manuel Price of Goldsboro, each with an associates degree in nursing.
Benjamin Grant Harper of Goldsboro graduated from Camden Military Academy on May 22. He will attend Weber State University this fall. He is the son of Eddie and Teresa West of Goldsboro and the late Ronnie E. Harper. He is the grandson of Phyllis Grant of Goldsboro and the late Joseph Grant and Helen Williamson of Mount Olive and the late Edward Harper.
Elizabeth Jeffreys graduated from St. Catherine's School in Richmond, Va., on June 5. She is the daughter of Jimmy and Karla Jeffreys of Goldsboro and will attend East Carolina University this fall.
Mary Elizabeth Hooks is on the spring semester dean's list at Meredith College. Her name was inadvertently omitted from previously published list. She is the daughter of Tommy and Beth Hooks of Fremont.

The National Association of Federal Education Program Administrators has awarded a $1,500 scholarship to William Campbell, a recent graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. Campbell plans to attend UNC-Pembroke in the fall.
