KENANSVILLE -- A man suspected of robbing the Bank of America Tuesday in Kenansville is in the Duplin County Jail under $500,000 bond pending a first appearance at 9 a.m. on July 8. in Duplin District Court.

Lenny Lamore Gardner, 39, gave police two addresses, one on Mark Edwards Road in Wayne County and the other on the Kenansville Bypass.

Gardner was charged Wednesday night in a parking lot in Mount Olive, where he had agreed to meet law officers.

Kenansville police Chief Mike Webster said the Wayne County Sheriff's Office helped him find Gardner, and the Mount Olive Police Department helped with the arrest. He said the Duplin Sheriff's Office and the SBI also helped.

"We notified the Mount Olive Police Department what we had, and they helped us with the take-down," Webster said. "The Wayne County Sheriff's Office really helped us, also, with information once we started tracking him."
