WCC's latest Renaissance biggest yet

The 21st edition of Renaissance, Wayne Community College's writers and artists magazine, was its biggest yet, and according to its editors, the best yet.
The 2005 issue of the magazine contains 64 pages with more than 125 pieces of prose, poetry and art by 48 of the college's curriculum students and eight members of the faculty and staff.
Awards for outstanding student work were presented to Michael Elliott for the publication's cover design; Po Wah Yeung for best art; Julie A. Aycock for the best poem; and Debra Curl for the best essay. All are associate in arts majors. Elliott was the winner of last year's art award.
The winners received recognition in the magazine, certificates and cash prizes.
Everyone who appears in the magazine is a winner, Co-editor Rosaly Lomax said during the annual awards and unveiling ceremony. "Being published is a true prize, the true award."
In addition to Mrs. Lomax, co-editors are Kathryn Spicer and Paula Sauls. Marian Westbrook is editor emerita. All are English instructors at the college.
