Second teen charged
in store holdups
A second Goldsboro teen-ager was arrested Saturday night by Goldsboro police and charged with three felony counts of armed robbery.
Marcus Demetrius Benton, 19, of Courtyard Circle was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $60,000 secured bond. His first court appearance was scheduled for today to determine his legal representation.

Benton and Shawnquel C. Futrell, 17, of Ball Street were arrested after an investigation into six robbery cases of people or convenience stores since April 17. Futrell was jailed last week in lieu of a $250,000 secured bond.
Two convenience stores were robbed Wednesday morning, and another store and a pizza delivery man were held up last weekend.
Unsecured bond
on five drug charges
A 20-year-old Goldsboro woman has been arrested by the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and charged with five felony drug offenses. Ashley Lynette Strickland of Koonce Street was released from custody by Magistrate R. Allen Jones on a $200,000 unsecured bond.
Ms. Strickland was charged with trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to traffic in cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana and maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping or selling drugs.
Drugs in prison
Four people have been arrested by Goldsboro police and charged with felony drugs violations.
*Jamethon Curtis, 20, of Wayne Avenue was charged with possession of drugs in a prison, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and three misdemeanors -- discharge of a weapon in the city and two counts of resisting arrest. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of a $30,000 secured bond.
*James Ray Boykin Jr., 52, of Chapel Hill and Karli Janet Sickinger, 19, of Wake Forest were charged with possession of drugs in a prison. Each person was jailed in lieu of a $2,500 secured bond.
*Robin Packer, 34, of Wayne Avenue was charged with possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. His secured bond was set at $5,000.
Driver injured
A driver from Granite Falls was injured in a two-vehicle collision at 2:05 a.m. today in a parking lot on Green Drive, Goldsboro police said. Nancy Rose Woodruff, 41, was being treated today at Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said.
The sport utility vehicle that she was driving, the report said, collided with a parked car, registered to Donald Lynn Dunn of Gayle Drive. Damages were estimated at $1,100. No charges were filed.
Thefts
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*An air wrench, manual wrenches, an air compressor and a sander were stolen between Thursday and Friday after a door lock was damaged at C.C.'s Auto and Body Shop at 1205 Union Grove Church Road, Fremont, sheriff's deputies said. The stolen property was valued at $535. Damage was set at $15.
*A gold bracelet, a gold diamond ring, 55 coins and checks were stolen Friday after a door glass was broken at a home in the 100 block of Running Deer Circle, deputies said. The resident, D.K. McCullen, estimated the value of the stolen property at $940 and damage at $20.
*A Yamaha all-terrain vehicle was stolen between Saturday and Sunday from the 700 block of Emmaus Church Road, deputies said. The resident and owner, Curt Richard Douglas, put a $3,000 value on the four-wheeler.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A window in a home in the 300 block of Wood Street was shattered Saturday night by gunfire, police said. No one was injured. Damage at the Syreeta Johnson home was set at $500.
*Six video games, five rental DVD movies, a satellite radio system and $200 were stolen Sunday after a truck window was smashed in a parking lot in the 1100 block of South Dr. M.L. King Jr. Expressway, the U.S. 117 bypass, police said. The video games and movies, valued at $575, were owned by the truck stop. The truck's owner, Kenneth Pittman of Goldsboro, estimated the value of the radio at $100. Damage was put at $510.
*A portable DVD player was stolen Sunday night after a vehicle window was broken in the Outback restaurant parking lot at 2617 North Park Drive, police said. The vehicle owner, Edward M. Morgan of Pittsboro, said the player was worth $300.
*A silver, two-door 2001 Ford Mustang was stolen Saturday night from the 2100 block of Wayne Memorial Drive, police said. The owner, Sharon Grant of Goldsboro, said the car was valued at $13,000. A cell phone, $300 and other property also was taken.
Missing
Two boys were reported missing Saturday from their home at 1306 N. James St., Goldsboro police reported.
*Marquez Tashawan Leach, 13, was described as black, 5-feet and 70 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. When he was seen last at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, he was wearing a blue striped shirt, black shorts and flip-flops.
*Michael Lamar Bellamy, 14, was described as black, 5-feet-2 and 70 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a dark complexion. When he was seen last at 5 p.m. Saturday, he was wearing a green and black checked shirt, army shorts and black shoes.
Anyone with information on the location of either boy was asked to call police at 705-6572.
