Wayne Community Col-lege's Upsilon Chi chapter has been named one of the "Top 100" chapters in Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.

The chapter earned the recognition as one of the best among the organization's 1,200 chapters by its campus events, community involvement and individual and chapter accomplishments. The honor was announced at the society's 87th International Convention. Four thousand members, advisors and alumni attended, including representatives of Wayne Community College's Upsilon Chi Chapter.

Phi Theta Kappa has recognized academic excellence in the two-year college since 1918. Membership is based primarily on academic achievement. The organization offers opportunities for scholarships, intellectual enrichment and personal development to its members.
