Man convicted in bludgeoning death to be paroled

KENANSVILLE -- The N.C. Parole Commission has granted parole to a Duplin County man who was convicted in the 1982 bludgeoning death of a woman he had served as pastor.
Clarence Sheldon Howard, 67, was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of Inez Jernigan, 53, who lived on N.C. 11. She was beaten and stabbed to death.
