Wayne County's board of commissioners passed a resolution of support earlier this week for Jim Trogdon, division engineer for the North Carolina transportation department.

Trogdon managed Wayne County state road projects for more than five years, forging a strong relationship with officials in the area. He was responsible for managing highway maintenance, construction and operations within Division 4, which includes 6,000 miles of roads and 1,200 bridges.

The resolution thanked him "for his many contributions and dedicated service" to the county.

Commissioner Efton Sager said he had gotten to know Trogdon quite well and thought he had done a great job for the area.

Trogdon is leaving the Department of Transportation later this month to work on the Joint Legislative Transportation Oversight Committee for the General Assembly.
