Two charged in courthouse break-in

KENANSVILLE -- Two construction workers have been charged with breaking into the courthouse, which is under renovation.
District Attorney Dewey Hudson said Reginald Herring and Morgan Rice were charged with breaking into a secured section of the courthouse basement on April 21 and removing criminal evidence stored there.
Herring, 22, of Wallace, was charged with stealing criminal evidence, possession of stolen goods and larceny. He was placed under $11,000 bond. Rice, 46, of Rose Hill, was charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and possession of stolen goods. His bond was set at$15,000 bond.
