Flushing system

Goldsboro workers will begin systematically flushing the city's water distribution lines on Sunday night. The work will continue for several nights.

The general services department is scheduled to begin work at 10 p.m. each night, except Friday and Saturday, and end around 6 a.m.

Residents may experience some discolored water during the process. If so, they should run their cold water to try to clear out any discoloration in their plumbing. If that doesn't resolve the problem, they should call general services at 734-8674.

The schedule is as follows:

*West Grantham Street, West Mulberry Street, West Alabama Street, West Holly Street, West Oak Street, Astor Court and Georgia Avenue.

*West Ash Street (N.C. 581), Neuse Correctional, Cherry Hospital and O'Berry Center areas.

*Pine Valley Road, Collier Street, Jordan Boulevard, Lake Drive, Elizabeth Street, Paul Street and Stuart Street.

*U.S. 117 Bypass South, Washington Park subdivision.

*Vann Street, Arrington Bridge Road.
