Miss Goldsboro, Kandis Weeks, will sponsor a Bloodmobile Tuesday for the Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross.
It will be held at the chapter house at 600 N. George St. from 2 to 6:30 p.m. and will be by appointment only by calling 735-7201.
The 18-year-old is doing the blood drive as part of her platform, "Promoting the Giving and Sharing of Life Through Blood Donations."
"I am working with the American Red Cross through blood drives, especially the one Tuesday," she said. "I invite everyone in Goldsboro to come out, join in and help out."
Miss Weeks said she chose blood donation because she "wanted a platform that would reach everyone."
Miss Weeks will be donating blood Tuesday and will be on hand throughout the entire bloodmobile to talk with donors and sign autographed pictures of herself.
Don Best, blood services director with the Wayne County Chapter, said blood types O negative, O positive, B negative and B positive are at a critical level with less than a day and half supply.
Donors must be at least 17 and weigh at least 110 pounds.
