KENANSVILLE -- Carolina East Home Care & Hospice Foundation has established two $1,000 scholarships for health care programs of study.
The scholarships are available to provide financial assistance to residents of the seven counties served by Carolina East: Wayne, Duplin, Sampson, Lenoir, Jones, Onslow and Pender. The purpose of the scholarships is to contribute to the development and strengthening of the primary health care workforce in the communities served.
The scholarships will be awarded for a primary health care degree or certification program of study. Criteria for selection include academic excellence, the ability to serve as a role model and financial need. The judges will base their decisions on students' academic records, references and essays. Recipients will be notified by May 15.
For information, people may contact the website at www.carolinaeast.org or call 910-296-0819, toll free 800-537-2908. The deadline for applications is April 30.
