KENANSVILLE -- James Sprunt Community College has developed an extensive schedule of computer classes.
The Continuing Education Department has scheduled classes for both days and nights. The first round of classes will run from April 4 through May 19. Classes will meet for two classes per week, each class lasting for three hours. Each course will be for 42 hours of instruction.
For students who need to develop basic typing skills, there will be an Introduction to Keyboarding class. There will be one section of the basic introductory level class, "Introduction to Microcomputers, Windows, and Microsoft Works." Among other classes, there will be classes on the use of the Internet and the Microsoft Office suite of applications such as "Word" and "Excel." A more complete listing may be found online at http://www.sprunt.com/Continuing_Ed/CEsked.html.
Tuition for each course is $60. People over the age of 65 can take any course by paying the technology fee of $5.
Pre-registration is important. Once 12 students have pre-registered for a class, registration for that class will be closed. Students who simply show up for a class without pre-registration run the risk of being closed out of a place in the class.
To pre-register and reserve a place in a class, people should call Bryant Henderson at 910-296-2521 or email bryanth@jscc.cc.nc.us.
