Shoe boxes for tsunami victims
There's still time to pack an Easter shoe boxes for children who were tsunami victims.
Someone will be at Adamsville Baptist Church on Thursday, March 31 from 2 until 9 p.m. to collect shoe boxes and get them to Samaritan's Purse .
The guidelines are the same as those for packing the traditional Christmas shoe boxes. Find an empty standard-size shoe box. Decide whether it is for a boy or girl and the age category, 2-4, 5-9, or 10-14. Label the box and fill it with a variety of gifts, such as school supplies, hygiene items, small toys, hard candy, ball caps. Also, for this special project, it is asked that a T-shirt be included in each box.
Shoeboxes may be mailed directly to Samaritan's Purse, Operation Christmas Child, 801 Bamboo Road, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, N.C., 28607. The deadline for mailing is April 4.
