Suspect sought

in murder

in LaGrange

The Lenoir County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man they believe shot two people, killing one of them, Thursday night in LaGrange.

Deputies were called to a shooting at Dooley's Bar in LaGrange just before 10 p.m. and found Saul Sanchez Alonso with a gunshot wound. He was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The investigators said he was shot in the upper body with a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun.

Witnesses told investigators that the shooter was Pablo Baltazar, also known as Leonardo Garcia. Detectives otained a warrant for his arreston a charge of murder. Baltazar is still at large, they said, and should be considered armed and dangerous.

A second victim was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital with a gunshot to the abdomen. His condition was not known at presstime.

Shooting in city

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred around 9 a.m. today on Mimosa Street. Officers were told to be on the look-out for a light-colored SUV. The identify of the victim was not immediately known nor was his condition. He was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Investigations

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating these reports:

*Four juveniles reportedly stole Michael Parks' dog from his home on Wayne Memorial Drive. The pit bull was worth $700, Parks said. It was described as brownish red in color. It was last secured Tuesday morning, and Parks said he discovered it was missing at 4:30 p.m. the same day.

*A neighbor reported seeing a man and a woman take 1,500 pounds of aluminum cans valued at $500 from the back yard of Blaine Lanier on N.C. 111 South. The report said the two people also entered a storage building and tried to pry open the door to Lanier's mobile home.

The Goldsboro Police Department is investigating these reports:

*Thieves broke the rear door window Thursday morning to get into the home of Marcus James Sanders on North Kornegay Street. Items reported missing included a DVD player, a Playstation, 12 games and a wireless game adapter, all valued at $780.

*Somebody reportedly took Brandy Lecleric's $2,000 scooter from the porch at N. James Street.

Accidents

*Goldsboro police charged Tyler Brandon McNeill of Sparrow Court, Pikeville, with failure to stop for a stop sign after the 2002 Chevrolet he was driving struck the side of a 1992 Plymouth driven by Larry Gene Faircloth of Eunice Street. Nobody was hurt. Damage to the Chevrolet was $2,500. Damage to the Plymouth was $5,000.

*The state Highway Patrol charged Marvin O'Neal Tucker of Whitakers with exceeding a safe speed after his rig jackknifed in a curve Wednesday on U.S. 117 between N.C. 581 and George Street. He was unhurt. Damage was $3,000.

*Trampus Carroll Tolar of Toms Drive, Dudley, was treated and released at Wayne Memorial Hospital Wednesday after the 2003 Ford he was driving ran off Sleepy Creek Road and overturned. Damage to his Ford was $2,000. He was not charged.

*Nobody was hurt in an accident on Arrington Bridge Road between N.C. 581 and Emmaus Church Road. The two vehicles sustained $4,500 damage. Justin Dante Monroe of Indian Springs Road, Seven Springs, was charged with exceeding a safe speed.
