Break-ins charged
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office has charged a LaGrange man with breaking and entering.
Matthew Anthony Bride, 24, of Jeffrey Drive, LaGrange, was charged with two counts each of breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen property. The charges were related to two break-ins, one in 2004.
Bride was also charged with forgery, uttering and resisting a law enforcement officer. He was placed in the Wayne County Jail under $56,000 bond.
R.D. Chunn of the Sheriff's Office was the arresting officer.
Armed robbery
Police responded to a report of an armed robbery on Royall Avenue Saturday morning. A Goldsboro teen was later arrested.
Police were called at 11:30 a.m. to 1601 E. Royall Ave. James Edward Summerlin, 62, an employee of Advance Auto Parts on Berkeley Boulevard, told police that he had been approached by two black males, one with a handgun, who demanded he give them a moneybag.
The two suspects fled toward Fairview Circle with the moneybag and an undisclosed amount of cash.
Shortly after 1 p.m., Officer B. Smith arrested Derick Cumberlander, 17, of Marigold Street, at an apartment on Holly Street and charged him with armed robbery and second-degree trespassing. Cumberlander was placed in the Wayne County Jail under $35,500 bond.
No other arrest was reported as of press time.
Fraud charged
A Goldsboro woman has been charged with seven counts of identity theft.
Wendy Mae Gillespie, 26, of Harding Drive, was arrested by Goldsboro police at the request of A.B. Azelton of the Randolph County Sheriff's Office and charged with seven counts of financial identity fraud.
She is in the county jail under $35,000 bond.
Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*An air compressor, valued at $225, was reported missing Friday by Thomas Edward Ohara from his house in the 1500 block of East Mulberry Street.
*An air conditioner was stolen last week from a rental house in the 1500 block of Edgerton Street.
*Someone vandalized a truck belonging to Jackson's Tree Service that was parked Friday morning in the 400 block of Hinson Street. Four windows, the front grill, headlights and tail lights were all broken, and the gas, oil and radiator gaps stolen. Damage was estimated at more than $1,500.
