Renaming some county roads on commissioners' agenda

Wayne County Commissioners will hold a public hearing Tuesday at 9:15 to discuss the renaming of several county roads.
The roads being considered for renaming are:
*The western portion of North Washington Street from its intersection with Nahunta Road to its end at the new US 117 as Davis Thomas Road.
*The western portion of West Maint Street from its intersection with Hooks Road to its end at the new US 117 as Rateice Road.
*The western portion of Edmundson Springs Road from its intersection with West NC 222 Highway to its end at the new US 117 as Fremont Cemetery Road.
*The western portion of Stuckey Road from its intersection with Hooks Road as Herman Hooks Road.
*The northern portion of Salem Church Road from its intersection with Nahunta Road to its end at the new US 117 as Hicks Road.
*The eastern portion of Nahunta Road from its intersection with the existing US 117 to its intersection with Salem Church Road as Hinnant Road.
The commissioners will receive the annual report of the Wayne County Adult Care Home Community Advisory Committee and Wayne County Nursing Home Advisory Committe. The board will also consider a resolution concerning anming the bridge over the Little River on NC Highway 581 the John R. Deans Memorial Bridge.
After the meeting, the commissioners will hold a work session to discuss the following topics:
*The Wayne County Mobile Home Standards and Set Up Ordinance.
*A request to close Kelly Springs Road.
*Proposed amendments to the Wayne County Zoning Ordinance and Map.
The meeting begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday and is held in the County Commissioners room on the fourth floor of the Wayne County Court-house.
