A man was found dead Thursday in a mobile home on Central Heights Road, and a woman who lived at the home was arrested by Goldsboro police and charged with murder.
The identity of the victim has not been released until relatives have been notified and can identify him.
Police were asked to check on the resident at Lot 103 in Tanglewood Mobile Home Park at 3201 Central Heights Road, because no one had seen him for a few days.
Police found the doors locked. Cpl. Mike Goudy was authorized to make a forced entry into the home through a window. The man was found on the floor next to a bed.
After an investigation, Teresa Edwina Bizzell, 37, was arrested and charged with an open count of murder. She was taken before a magistrate, who ordered that she be held in the Wayne County Jail without bond.
Ms. Bizzell will be in Wayne County District Court on Monday to have her legal representation determined.
Police Maj. Jay Memmelaar declined to say how the man died or what the motive for the crime could have been.
Police Investigator Chad Calloway and Special Agent John Rea of the State Bureau of Investigation arrested Ms. Bizzell.
