Showtime today

The News-Argus television guide, TV Showtime, can be found in today's paper.

TV Showtime is included today because of the large size of Friday's annual Focus edition.

Concert postponed

The contemporary Christian music concert scheduled for Friday night at Wayne Community College has been postponed. The concert's sponsor, the college's Criminal Justice Club, gave its spot to the StageStruck production of "Peter Pan," which was displaced by the Paramount Theater fire.

Concert organizers will announce a new performance date when they locate a new venue.

Daffodil pageants

The annual Miss Daffodil pageant will be held at 5 p.m. March 13 in the fellowship hall at Fremont United Methodist Church. The annual Little Miss Daffodil pageant will be held at 7 p.m. March 19 in the Fremont Elementary School.

Those interested in competing in either pageant were asked to call Brenda Paul at the Heritage Bank in Fremont at 242-6011,

The 19th annual Daffodil Festival will be held March 26 in downtown Fremont with the Band of Oz as the featured attraction. Day One, a gospel group, also will perform later.

Pancakes in Pikeville

The Pikeville Lions Club will hold its 23rd annual sausage and pancake supper from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday at St. Joseph United Methodist Church.

Tickets cost $6 each and are available from club members. Proceeds will be used to help the visually impaired and for other community projects.

Correction

The name of one of the students picked to attend the School of Math and Science was spelled incorrectly in a story on Wednesday. The girl's name is Theresa Crowgey.
