Jurors should report
Jurors summoned Monday for Wayne County Superior Court should report as scheduled at 9 a.m., a court official says.
While Monday is a federal holiday for Presidents Day, it is not a state or local holiday, said Karrie R. Minchew, a deputy court clerk. A regular weekly term of court will begin Monday morning.
Career day set
Career day will be held in the Wayne Learning Center Atrium at Wayne Community College on Wednesday, March 16, from 9 a.m. until noon.
This is the 15th year for the free event, co-hosted by the college's Cooperative Education, Cooperative Programs and Job Referral departments, Wayne County JobLink, and Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Family Support Center.
Students, military personnel and civilians can meet employers, ask questions, drop off resumes and set up interviews. Business and industry representatives will also share information about employment needs.
More than 60 representatives from a wide variety of technical fields and trades, as well as placement agencies, have been invited to participate. Some of these include health care, finance, education, automotive, law enforcement, manufacturing, aviation, human services, agribusiness, retail sales, military, mechanical, administrative, clerical, accounting, information technology and government.
