KENANSVILLE -- A Mount Olive man was killed Sunday morning when his pickup truck overturned on a hunting reserve in northern Duplin County.

Benjamin Riggle, 27, died about 9:25 a.m., when his truck flipped after hitting a deep rut on Pulpwood Road, about nine miles north of Kenansville.

A state Highway Patrol report said Riggle was driving one of three vehicles that were on a dirt road when he lost control and ran off on the left side, struck a ditch and tree, and overturned.

The report said Riggle was not wearing a seat belt.

Riggle was the son of Larry Riggle, a Wayne County magistrate and former Mount Olive police chief.
