Demolition crews are razing the former Nichols Discount City department store, located at 2102 Wayne Memorial Drive. The owners, BAP Partners Inc., plan to redevelop or sell the 12-acre site once it's cleaned up. The Nichols store closed in 1988. It was used as the Goldsboro Flea Market from 1990 until a few years ago. The site also includes a former Winn-Dixie store that had until recently housed the Treasure Hut.
