Man robbed
A Goldsboro man was robbed Sunday of $280 in the 200 block of West Ash Street, according to a Goldsboro police report.
Charles Lee Johnson, 30, said a man approached him at about 11:30 a.m., displayed a handgun and demanded his money. The suspect grabbed the cash and fled north on George Street. He was described as black, slender, about 6-feet-1 and 170 pounds.
Johnson also said someone had broken into his home between Friday and Sunday and stole his cell phone, valued at $60.
Four hurt
Four people were injured and both vehicles were destroyed in an accident Friday at the intersection of U.S. 70 West and Community Drive, the Highway Patrol reported.
One driver, Stephen Shayne Fischer, 16, of Maple Street, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital and then airlifted to another hospital. His condition was not immediately known.
The other driver, Israel Ramirez Ramirez, 36, of Cary, and his passengers, Justo Rico Torres, 29, and Juan Carlos Avila-Mercado, 27, both of Cary, were treated and released from Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Trooper R.S. Powell said Fischer had stopped at the northbound stop sign on Community Drive at about 3:20 p.m. and then tried to cross the eastbound lanes of U.S. 70. His pickup collided with a sport utility vehicle driven by Ramirez. The SUV overturned into the median, and Fischer's pickup crossed the median and stopped in the westbound lanes. The vehicles were valued at $14,000.
Charges are pending, Powell said.
In other accidents:
*Damages were estimated at $8,000 in a two-vehicle crash Friday morning at Old Smithfield Road and Pate Circle. Aleshia Danielle Stanley, 16, of Pate Circle, was charged with a yield violation.
*A driver was injured and damages were put at $8,500 in a two-truck collision at 1:55 p.m. Thursday at U.S. 70 and N.C. 581. Vernon Worley Jr., 29, of Pinkney Road, Fremont, was released after emergency-room treatment. Gregory Scott Radford, 34, of N.C. 581 South, was charged with a stoplight violation.
*Both drivers were charged in a two-vehicle crash at 5 p.m. Thursday at Salem Church and Hinnant roads, the Highway Patrol said. William Earl Dudley, 36, of N.C. 581 North, was charged with a stop-sign violation. Dustin Wayne Sasser, 17, of Big Daddy's Road, Pikeville, was charged with speeding. Damages were estimated at $9,000.
*Damages were set at $6,000 in a two-vehicle wreck at Thursday afternoon on Old Smithfield Road near Ferry Bridge Road. Philip Dean Best, 36, of Grady Road, Princeton, was charged with driving while impaired, driving while his license was revoked and hit and run.
*Logs shifted on a tractor-trailer that was rounding a curve on Indian Springs Road at Northeast Church Road, and the big rig ran off the right side and overturned, the Highway Patrol said. The driver, Kenneth White, 44, of Greenville, was charged with exceeding a safe speed after the wreck Wednesday morning. Damage was estimated at $30,000.
Investigations
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*A thief smashed a door and a window, cut the phone lines and alarm system and then damaged five video poker machines at Whitetail Landing at 2101 U.S. 117 South. No money was reported stolen. Damage was estimated at $1,550.
*Four walkie-talkies and $4 were stolen between Friday and Saturday from a truck in the 100 block of Brookwood Drive. Richard Kirby of Greenville valued the items at $324. Damage was put at $500.
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A watch, eyeglasses and a purse with personal papers were stolen Sunday after a vehicle window was smashed in a parking lot in the 2600 block of North Park Drive. The owner, Angela Vaccaro of Goldsboro, estimated the value of the stolen property at $740 and damage at $30.
*A video camera was stolen Saturday night after a car window was broken in the Pinewood Square parking lot. Sharon R. Wooten of Snow Hill, put a $278 value on her property and set damage at $200.
Missing
Two children have been reported missing to Wayne County authorities.
*Takel Marques Miller, 12, of 403 Lime St. was described as black, 5-feet-4 and 96 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. When he was seen last at 5:55 p.m. Sunday, he was wearing dark blue jeans, white shoes and a black hooded jacket.
*Kenneth Edward Mace, 15, of 1703 O'Berry Center Road was described as black, 5-feet-9 and 140 pounds with long black hair and brown eyes. When he was seen last at 5:40 p.m. Sunday, he was wearing a black shirt, black pants and white shoes.
