WALLACE -- The Duplin First Council is sponsoring the Duplin County Expo Friday and Saturday, March 4 and 5, at the New Duplin Warehouse on Railroad Street in Wallace.

The show hours are Friday from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. The admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children 6 to 12, and children under 6 are free.

Kaye Foster, a co-chairman of the Duplin Expo, said the Expo held last year "was a tremendous success, and the merchants and the public want to do it again."

The two-day event last year brought out about 3,500 people, and Ms. Foster said everyone seemed to enjoy the wide array of displays, food and entertainment.

"Once again, this is a great opportunity for Duplin businesses to showcase and sell their products and services and to reach hundreds of potential customers," she said. "We had excellent merchant participation last year and expect even more for the third EXPO."

Lou Powell, president of Duplin First Council, said the Expo is also "a great opportunity for people in Duplin and surrounding counties to see what is available in Duplin.

"If you have a Duplin business you would like to showcase, Duplin Expo committee wants to hear from you," she said. "This is a good way for businesses to promote their products or services, let everyone know where you are located, have face-to-face sales opportunities, demonstrate products and provide samples, provide brochures and information about your business and services, establish a deeper customer database, and meet the people who shop Duplin while making new friends."

For information and booth space reservations contact the Duplin County Economic Development Commission at 910-296-2180 or 1-800-755-1755.

Feb. 18 is the deadline to sign up and participate.
