Winter weather likely, but little snow

It's that time of year so don't be surprised to hear that snow is in the forecast for Wayne County this weekend.
The National Weather Service in Raleigh issued winter weather advisories beginning Saturday afternoon for most of central North Carolina where some locations could see accumulations of up to 4 inches as well as periods of freezing rain.
Wayne is among the counties under a winter storm watch. It is expected to get some snow too, but before you wax the sled runners, be advised that accumulations here are expected to be minimal. The moisture is forecast to change over to rain Sunday.
The watch will be in effect between 4 p.m. Saturday through daybreak Sunday.
There's a 40 percent chance of rain mixed with snow here beginning late in the afternoon Saturday and continuing until early Sunday morning before turning to all rain.
Temperatures will range from lows around 30 to highs around 40 for the two-day period. This means there is the chance that roads, especially bridges and overpasses, could be icy Saturday night and early Sunday and Monday.
Forecasters said the timing and duration of the elements combining to bring the wintery weather could may change. They advised monitoring weather broadcasts for updates and exercising caution if traveling, especially east of Interstate 95 where driving conditions will be even more hazardous.
