Future millionaire?

Melinda Murphy Sink, a 1976 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School, has been chosen as a contestant for "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire," a television game show hosted by Meredith Vieira. The segment will air on Thursday on ABC Channel 11 at 12:30 and 7:30 p.m.

Mrs. Sink and her husband, Keith, and their two sons live in Raleigh.

Library events for teens

The Wayne County Public Library will hold a Valentine Craft Day on Monday from 3 to 5 p.m. for kids 11 years old and up.

On Tuesday, Feb. 8, the library will show an award-winning comedy about a teen-age girl soccer player in London. A door prize will be given at the movie, and snacks will be provided.

The library is also looking for teens who would like to write and film their own movie later this year.

Safety seminar

The Business and Industry Center of Wayne Community College will offer the seminar "OSHA Ten-Hour Safety Awareness" on Tuesday, Feb. 15, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., and on Wed., Feb. 16, from 8-11 a.m. in Room 145 in the Dogwood Building on the college's main campus in Goldsboro.

Registration fee is $50. Call 735-5151, ext. 334 to pre-register by Feb. 11.

This 10-hour course, presented by Mike Starling, will include an introduction to the Occupational Safety and Health Administration Act, electrical safety, fall protection, machine guarding, stairways and ladders, fire protection, record keeping and more.

Bloodmobile

The Wayne County Chapter of the American Red Cross will have a Bloodmobile Thursday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Goldsboro Milling Co. Donors will receive a coupon for a free car wash.
