LAGRANGE -- Authorities arrests a Beaulaville man Monday and charged him with murder in the shooting death of Kenneth Rouse.
John Linwood Sutton, 38, was being held in the Lenoir County Jail.
Rouse, 49, was found dead in his back yard on Ed Herring Road late Wednesday.
LaGrange Police Chief John Sullivan said an autopsy showed he died from a single shotgun wound to the back.
Sullivan thanked neighboring law enforcement agencies in Duplin County for their help in apprehending the suspect. He also thanked the residents of LaGrange who helped provide information.
"The citizens really stepped up and helped us out with this one," Sullivan said.
