Monday is
school holiday
Monday is a holiday for the Wayne County Public Schools. All schools and the central offices will be closed.
Students will be dismissed early on Tuesday, Jan. 25, in order for teachers to attend staff development workshops. This is one of 12 days set aside in the school calendar for student early dismissal.
Additional minutes have been added to the school day to make up the time missed on those days so that students receive the required instructional hours. Dismissal times will range from 12:15 p.m. to 1:35 p.m.
Questions regarding specific dismissal times for each school should be directed to the individual child's school.
Holiday trash services
Goldsboro will observe the Martin Luther King holiday on Monday. All trash collection services scheduled for Monday will be collected on Wednesday.
The Wayne County landfill and convenience centers will be closed Monday.
