Man wanted
in kidnapping
Wayne County Sheriff's officers are looking for a man accused of assaulting and kidnapping a woman from early Saturday to Sunday afternoon.
Davis
George Thomas Davis, 28, was described as black, 5-feet-7 and 195 pounds with a shaved head and brown eyes. He may be driving a white Dodge Intrepid with a dark blue fender or a 1995 green, four-door Honda Accord. He may be in the 1700 block of Maple Street, in the Best Value Motel, the formerMotel 6, or on Carriage Road.
Davis should be considered armed and dangerous, officers said.
Anyone with information on Davis' location was asked to call Sheriff's Detective Sgt. Shawn Harris at 731-1481 or Goldsboro-Wayne County Crime Stoppers at 735-2255. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward.
The victim, Grace Hall, 34, of LaGrange, had reported that she had driven to the 100 block of Ellis Drive to drop off her car for repairs and then get a ride home. But a man pulled into the driveway, assaulted her, brandished a weapon as neighbors tried to intervene, threw her in the car and drove away. The man then got a room in a Goldsboro motel, the report said. Then Sunday, the suspect drove her back to Ellis Drive and went inside, and the neighbors came out and talked to her, the report said. The suspect returned to the car and fled.
Store robbed
Two men robbed a Hispanic store owner Saturday of $50, Wayne County sheriff's officers said.
Pablo Flores told deputies that the suspects entered his Tienda Mexicana Meli store at 309 Potts Road, Dudley, about noon. One suspect went to the bathroom, and the other displayed a handgun, the report said. The first suspect then left the bathroom and grabbed the cash while the gunman threatened the owner and his mother. The robbers then fled. Neither could be described.
Four hurt
Four people were injured and damages were estimated at $30,800 in five recent traffic accidents in Wayne County, the Highway Patrol reported.
*A driver said she passed out and then lost control of her car at 2:10 p.m. Friday at U.S. 117 Alternate and Outlaw Road. The car struck a sign and a house across the road. Latisha Monique Owens, 27, of Outlaw Road, Dudley, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and released, a spokeswoman said. Damages were set at $1,300 to the car and house. No charges were filed.
*Damages were estimated at $7,500 in a two-vehicle collision at 1:10 p.m. Friday at U.S. 117 and O'Berry Road. Jonease La-dale Royal, 23, of Newton Grove, was charged with a stoplight violation. The car that Royal was driving collided with a westbound pickup driven by Willis Henry Swinson III, 64, of Club Knolls Road, Dudley.
*Damages were estimated at $6,000 in a two-vehicle crash at 1:45 p.m. Thursday on U.S. 117 Alternate near Northeast Church Road. One driver, Harold Lamont Manley, 33, of B.J. Drive, was charged with failure to reduce speed after the rear-end crash. The other driver was Joyce H. Hill, of East James Street, Mount Olive.
*Three people were injured in a one-car wreck at 5:47 p.m. Wednesday at N.C. 581 and Nahunta Road. The driver, Comillus Burns, 64, of District Heights, Md., was listed today in stable condition at Wayne Memorial Hospital, a spokeswoman said. His passengers, James Price, 60, and James Forsythe, 52, both of Kenly, were released after emergency-room treatment. Burns was charged with a stop-sign violation. Damage were put at $10,000.
*Damages were estimated at $6,000 in a two-car collision at 1:32 p.m. Tuesday at N.C. 581 and Memorial Church Road. Joyce Johnson, 54, of Aycock Acres Road, Fremont, was charged with a stop-sign violation.
Thefts
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*A man left a car running Sunday on Atlantic Avenue and returned to find it gone. The burgundy Dodge Neon is owned by Lucinda Carson of Dudley and valued at $11,000.
*A thief inflicted about $325 in damages between Saturday and Sunday in order to steal $25 from Eastgate Realty at 122 S. Berkeley Blvd. A window and a door were damaged.
*A burglar damaged a door and stole $6 and personal papers between Friday night and Saturday from a home in the 100 block of Swan Street.
*A DVD player, video-game equipment, clothes, a phone, a compact disc player and $20 were stolen Saturday from a mobile home in the 3200 block of Central Heights Road. D.A. Teachey put an $880 value on the property.
Break-ins
Wayne County sheriff's deputies are investigating these reports:
*About $50 was stolen between Thursday and Friday after a glass door and a window were smashed at the El Tianguis store at 1484 N.C. 111 South. Damage was put at $800.
*A compact disc player and a speaker were stolen from a wrecked car at Mitchell's Body Shop, deputies said. The missing property, valued at $1,200, was owned by Jeremiah Michael Miller of Wilson.
Missing
A 16-year-old girl has been reported missing. Shantel Corrine Kelly of 2524 Dobbersville Road, Mount Olive, was described as white, 5-feet-8 and 180 pounds with brown hair and green eyes. She was seen last at 2:30 p.m. Friday, wearing dark jeans and a burgundy T-shirt. Anyone with information on her whereabouts was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 731-1481.
