Wayne County District Attorney Branny Vickory said this morning three former Mount Olive police officers were expected to plead guilty this afternoon to charges stemming from complaints by Latino men that money was missing from their wallets after traffic stops.

Former Sgt. Joshua Joseph Ehnert and former patrolmen Freddy Norman Southerland and David Allen Johnson have been charged with felony conspiracy to commit larceny.

Complaints to the Police Department in mid-August led to an SBI investigation. The men were sent home on suspension without pay and resigned shortly thereafter when the SBI released its report.

On Sept. 27, they were told to turn themselves in at the Wayne County Magistrate's Office.
