Shooting
A 20-year-old South Best Street man remains in Wayne Memorial Hospital after being shot while walking to his home Thursday night.
Antron Hines, 20, of South Best Street, told police he was was on the 900 block of Carver Drive at 8:30 when a car drove past him. He said he recognized the car and an acquaintance inside, and said the man got out of the car with a handgun and shot at Hines, striking him in the left hip.
Hines said he was able to run to his mother's home on Carver Drive, where an ambulance was called.
Domestic assault
Cedric McKinney, 36, South Slocumb Street, was charged with assault on a female after a domestic dispute at a North James Street address Thursday night.
Ashleigh Mangum, 19, of Keith Place, called police after McKinney, her boyfriend, allegedly choked her, struck her in the face and tore her shirt during a dispute around 10 p.m.
Crime of the week
Goldsboro-Wayne Crimestoppers and Goldsboro Police Department are seeking information about a break-in to Southeast Family Pharmacy on N.C. 111 South in Goldsboro.
On Dec. 16 at approximately 2:30 a.m., Wayne Communications Center received notification of an alarm activation at Southeast Family Pharmacy. When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a front window had been broken out. A substantial amount of prescription medication was removed from the business.

Investigations
Goldsboro police are investigating these reports:
*Ruth Williams of Oakwood Street told police an unknown subject caused $500 worth of damage to the left front panel of a vehicle parked in front of her residence.
*David Lane, Jr., regional investigator for Books-A-Million told police he had been contacted by the company's district manager after employees at the Goldsboro store reported $880 in shortages to deposits made this week.
Accidents
*A driver was taken to the hospital after an accident at the intersection of Ash and John streets at 11:35 Thursday morning.
William Howard Locus, 72, Bunche Drive, was taken to Wayne Memorial Hospital, where he was treated and released.
No charges were filed and the driver of the other car, Wendy Ireland Potter, 50, New Bern, was not injured. According to witnesses, Ms. Potter failed to stop at the Ash Street light, proceeded through the intersection and struck Locus' car. Damages were estimated at $5,000 to each vehicle.
*A driver was charged with a stop light violation after his car struck another at the intersection of John and Center streets. The accident occurred at 2:40 p.m. when Danny Thomas Wise, 61, Pecan Road, Dudley, crossed the intersection and collided with a car driven by Lawrence Marion Dezern, 65, Lucama. Dezern was charged and received $800 worth of damage to his car; there was $850 worth of damage to Wise's car.
*Two cars collided on Royall Avenue at Spence Avenue at 3 p.m. Thursday after a driver attempted to change lanes and hit the other car. There were no injuries.
Eleanor Varnell Decot, 63, Worth Avenue, was charged with improper lane change, with $400 worth damage done to her car. The other vehicle, driven by Azul Royal Pilar, 31, Hannah Way, received $1,000 in damage.
*Chrystal Lea Barry, 23, Nahunta Pines Drive, Pikeville, was charged with failure to reduce speed after a two-car accident Thursday at 3 p.m. The accident occurred on Berkeley Boulevard as the two drivers attempted to turn onto U.S. 70 West.
The traffic light reportedly turned green and Ms. Barry said she took her foot off the brake and ran into the rear of a car driven by Karen Mae Herron, 45, Lane Tree Road. An estimated $200 in damage was done to Ms. Herron's car, with no damage report to Ms. Barry's vehicle.
*Doris Parrish, 76, of Selma, was cited for a safe movement violation after a two-car collision at Lockhaven Drive and Wayne Memorial Drive at 4:29 p.m. Thursday.
The accident report said Ms. Parrish made a right turn onto Wayne Memorial Drive and struck a car driven by Robert Lee Porter, 43, Jefferson Avenue. There was $1,000 damage to Ms. Parrish's car and $50 worth of damage to the other vehicle.
