Stolen property
recovered
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office Investigation's Division assisted by the Johnston County Sheriff's Office recovered over $10,000 worth of stolen property that was taken from Wayne County victims.
Most of the property has been identified and the victims have been notified. Most of the larcenies and break-ins occurred at homes that were under construction located in the Buck Swamp area, Indian Springs area and Pikeville area.
After a search, the stolen property was recovered at 1590 Bagly Road in Kenly. The investigation into these cases and other similar cases are continuing. Arrests are pending. The Investigating officers were Detective Sgt.'s Shawn Harris, Carl Lancaster, Mike Kabler and Detective Mike Reid.
Investigations
The Wayne County Sheriff's Office is investigating the following crimes:
*Microwaves were reported stolen Monday from the 600 block of Buck Swamp Road. The victim, Nova Construction Co. at the 100 block of Shilou Drive in Pikeville, estimated the property's value at $1,000.
*A welding cable and cash were reported stolen Wednesday from General Industries after the front gate chain was cut at the 300 block of Thoroughfare Road. General Industries estimated the property's value at $4,300.
*A heat pump was stolen and an electric meter was damaged Wednesday from the 3500 block of N.C. 55 W. The victim, Jerry Dunkley of the 1500 block of Elavation Road in Four Oaks, estimated the property's value at $2,100.
*Change, handguns, revolvers, a camcorder, shotguns, a chair, a bracelet, a chain, rings, a safe, and coins were reported stolen Wednesday from a residence in the 200 block of Budd Fields Road in LaGrange. The victim, Danny Ray Grant, estimated the property's value at $5,675.
Goldsboro police are investigating the following crimes:
*Pillowcases, a necklace, a bracelet, a ring, a TV, a Playstation 2, DVD movies and a DVD player, cologne, a dead bolt and a digital camera were reported stolen after a window was broken out at a residence at the 1300 block of Park Avenue. The victim, Jonathan Wesley Nichols, estimated the property's value at $1,110 and the damage to the window at $100.
Missing
Goldsboro police are looking for Nyquita Meria Gonzales, 15, of Slaughter Street. She was described as a black female, 5-feet-3 inches tall, 110 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and a medium complexion. She was wearing a white fitted shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers and a white and blue coat. She was last seen at her home heading in a car to Dupont Circle.
Attempted murder
Travis M. Davis, 34, Slocumb Street, was charged with order for arrest/failure to appear for attempted first-degree murder and order for arrest/failure to appear for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury. His secured bond was set at $400,000.
Collisions
*Damages were estimated at $8,000 in a two-car collision on Wednesday on William Street, according to Goldsboro police. A vehicle driven by Shaveda Nicole Thompson of the 600 block of Deveraux Street was traveling north on William Street and turned left into the Quick Mart in front of another vehicle traveling south on William Street driven by Maximino Roberto Bautista of the1900 block of William Street. Bautista collided with Thompson, who was charged with a safe movement violation.
*Damages were estimated at $6,000 and four people were injured in a two-car collision Wednesday on Elm Street. A vehicle driven by Erica Chamon Coley of the 1300 block of Olivia Lane and a vehicle driven by Price Dion Womack of the 200 block of Bryant Circle were both traveling west on Elm Street, according to the police report.
Womack stopped in the travel lane for oncoming traffic to make a left turn onto a parking lot and Coley failed to reduce speed and struck Womack's vehicle in the rear. Coley was charged with failure to reduce speed. The drivers of the two vehicles and Donna L. Womack, Erica S. Womack and Dionna J. Womack were all transported to Wayne Memorial Hospital by Wayne County EMS. They were all treated and released.
