A white Christmas is coming a day late for Wayne County.
Today may be a good day to stay at home because the National Weather Service is forecasting snow accumulations of 2 to 6 inches before it ends tonight. And to make driving hazardous, a quarter-inch of ice is also possible.
Temperatures will not climb above the mid 30s and winds will remain out of the north gusting to more than 20 miles per hour.
While returning to work may be a bit iffy Monday morning, temperatures are expected to moderate into the mid 40s by Monday afternoon under mostly sunny skies. A warming trend will continue throughout the week with temperatures reaching the 60s by Wednesday.
