Santa wrapping gifts, filling stockings for Goldsboro party

Santa will arrive a little early for 610 children this year.

The jolly old fellow was invited to celebrate Christmas with the children next Saturday at the annual Empty Stocking Fund party.

All of the children are from homes where, without a helping hand, a visit from Santa Claus is a dream that will not come true.

As it has every year since 1912, the Empty Stocking Fund will make sure each child gets a new toy, some new clothes and a stocking filled with treats.

At least $33,000 is needed to pay for the party, gifts and treats.

Donations may be mailed to the News-Argus, P.O. Box 10629, Goldsboro, N.C., 27532; or brought to the newspaper office at 310 N. Berkeley Boulevard.
